The Starehe Girls’ School is located on the outskirts of Nairobi in Kenya. It was founded by Dr Geoffrey Griffin from the UK. The school began operating in 2005 and was modeled after the Starehe Boys’ School which was opened in 1959. The Starehe Girls’ School takes in the best applicants from all economic backgrounds.

The Centre is a National Boarding School which has over the years been improving its infrastructure and facilities by building new classrooms, laboratories, dormitories, a dispensary, a library, a dining hall. It also has a borehole to provide water and a bio gas digester.
The Starehe Girls’ School KCSE 2022-2023 Performance
- In 2022 KCSE, hundred and fifty-eight (158) candidates sat for their National Examination, Out of these,
- 131 students who scored grade C+ (Plus) and above qualified to join public Universities under the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placements Service (KUCCPS) for their degree courses.
- The other twenty-seven students qualify to join technical colleges for diploma courses.

The Starehe Girls’ School Admission
Starehe Girls’ Centre accepts 200 students per year of whom three quarters are sponsored students from disadvantaged background while a quarter are self sponsored students.
- The goal of the admissions process is to ease your child’s entry into the Centre and to welcome your daughter/ ward Starehe Girls Centre& School community.
