Second strongest and best Bank inKenya is the KCB group. Both KCB and Equity are consolidated at group level, where their results include assets outside their principal country. KCB’s in-country Kenya Commercial Bank would be by itself the country’s biggest with $718m in capital.
Subsequently, the bank has emerged as a true lender of purpose as its assets grew to Sh2.1 trillion while it posted Sh30.7 billion in net profit for the nine months ending September 30 2023.
In 1970, the government acquired 100 percent of the shareholding in NGB to take full control of the largest commercial bank in Kenya. NGB was then renamed Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB)
